Season 10 Power Rankings: Week 5 - Weirdness, Conspiracy, and Will Josh Stop Wrecking?

Updated: Nov 16, 2022

Welcome to race number 6 of the Cleanracing.net season 10 power rankings. Ry Lewis wins his first career win with brilliant strategy. Outsmarted the whole field and used his buddies to purposefully bring out a caution at the perfect time. Oh no wait, that was Joey at Chicagoland. Everyone's favorite hard nosed, completely clean racer that gets caught up in netcode, Josh got caught up in netcode. Again. Evan was denied of his third straight AutoClub victory but not denied in the Power Rankings. Who should be cleanracing.net power rankings leader for week 5 of the season? Take the poll to let me know. (View Results)

  1. Evan Kinney (Previous: 3) - It may surprise everyone but myself, Evan is quietly averaging more points per race this season at 44.75 points/race than ANYONE that's competed in the league this season not named Mark Schley. But Mark Schley is the absolute GOAT so can't fault him for losing to Mark. I betchya Evan wishes he didn't violate the team's doping policy otherwise he'd be right in the mix.

  2. Joey Stiers (Previous: 2)- At this point I just like ranking the championship leader, all time wins leader, and all time championship leader number two and I keep finding excuses to keep him from being number one. It inspires him to be better. Joey averages 41.6 points per race this season. Still on cruise control coming to Iowa here soon and also COTA. Yes COTA (not a typo). Joey's been talking smack about it. Now we expect a win.

  3. Jeremy Mohr (Previous: 4)- Keeps stringing together solid finishes. Jeremy also is ranked number 3 in all time paint abilities behind Gregg and myself. He was number one until he admitted he just wrapped his truck in graphics in an image he found online. Jeremy and I were best buds at AutoClub running in subsequent positions pretty much the whole race. He got me at the end though after a late caution. Well a lot of guys did. Nothing to be proud of.

  4. Justin Carey (Previous: Should have been ranked) - Admittedly I snubbed him last week. This was Justin's third straight top 10 with a solid fifth place finish. Not many in this league other than the guys above him can say that they have had similar streaks this season. F*** this website for snubbing this man. Sorry Justin, I'll have a talk with the staff. Enjoyed racing you last week.

  5. Ry Lewis (Previous: Unranked) - Speaking of streaks, for the third week in a row we have a first time winner in this league who was previously unranked in the power rankings. Eerily and coincidentally enough, they also debut in the power rankings at number 5. Congrats on your win Ry. I wish you could be with us more. At this pace you will be kicked from the league next season. No. JK. Fred won't be that cruel. We love you. While on the creepy coincidental conspiracy theories - the Earth is flat, the moon landing was staged, Joey is afraid of Josh and had him suspended.

  6. Lane Hosler (Previous: Unranked) - Don't take this weirdly but I was starting to miss writing about you here. Thank God you are back where you belong. Just in time for Las Vegas. Also Lane is super good at Las Vegas. Like spookily good. Like the Titanic never sank but was swapped out with the R.M.S. Olympic good.

  7. Brian Sullivan (Previous: Unranked) - Everyone should pick this man here up on their fantasy team. He only costs two points, is close to 2k irating, and keeps finishing well. Like I don't know who came up with the fantasy CleanRacing crap, and what modeling they used but man what a value pick. This man churns out top 10's similar to Elvis not being dead if that makes sense. Also go check out the fantasy page.

  8. Steven Tuck (Previous: Unranked) - There are no more weird number patterns here to write about. Steven ruined that. But what Steven didn't ruin was his race at AutoClub. He is just boring old Steven. Runs well everywhere. Finishes well everywhere. No one ever gets mad at him. Except me because he gives me nothing to write about. Let's be a little more dramatic so I can write about something. You know what's dramatic? A Big Foot sighting when you are naked in the pool. There is never an appropriate place to meet Big Foot, but you definitely want to be wearing clothes when you do. And you certainly don't want to be wet.

  9. Mike VanHouten (Previous: 10)- Unlike Steven, this guy always gives me stuff to write about. Some would say including a guy who was previously ranked in the Power Rankings at 10 and then finished 15th is a conspiracy theory in of itself (Notice a conspiracy theory trend yet?). But Mike got netcoded hard by Josh while competing for a win. So I'm going to give him the old Lane treatment from last season and keep him here despite the bad finish. Also some would say it's strange how Josh keeps getting into him. I don't. Mike and Josh are two hard racers that are fairly equally matched. They will find themselves around each other ALOT moving forward and this will happen again. We just got to learn to laugh it off. It may seem like I'm pushing a netcode conspiracy here, but honestly it was definitely netcode this time. I was playing it up with Joey a bit, but this time was a racing deal 100%.

  10. Josh Lilly (Previous: 9)- The only valid conspiracy in this whole article is Josh NEVER comes out of the top 10 here under any circumstances. He is the league GOAT other than Mark as mentioned. Also poor Josh. What can this boy do to win a race? He can only wreck racing for the lead so many times before he finally gets lucky and doesn't wreck himself as well in the process. I'm calling it now. Josh upsets the Lane and Evan run of domination at Vegas. Also Lane and Evan you may want to watch out. We see what he is capable of when he wants the lead.
